Maintenance Corner

Brakes are one of the most important components on your bike. Whether you are rocking V brakes or disc brakes maintenance is the key to knowing you can count on them to perform when you need them. Before each ride always check to make sure you have plenty of space between the handlebar and lever when fully depressed. Mechanical brakes will require a cable adjustment to correct. Hydraulic brakes will take either an adjustment on the lever or a bleed. And just like the oil in your car’s engine, you need to change your brake fluid at least every couple of years depending on riding conditions. Not comfortable with these processes we have two great bike shops in town to get your bike stopping as it should.
