We are now using WhatsApp as our immediate communications application. This is replacing the Remind App.

Why? Well, the Remind App was developed for school use to communicate with students and parents. But at one time, they were open to clubs. So we started using it for group ride text messaging. They are now restricting it to school use only for security reasons. Also, cell phone providers are getting stricter on mass text messaging. Verizon is one of the first providers to do this.

Why WhatsApp? WhatsApp introduced a new feature called Communities a while back. We created a community within WhatsApp and plan on taking full advantage of it. WhatsApp Communities allow admins to organize multiple related groups under one umbrella, offering a structured way to connect and manage communications for larger, more complex groups like schools, neighborhoods, or clubs while maintaining a focus on private, secure, and relevant conversations.

• Private and Secure: Your messages and calls within communities are always end-to-end encrypted, ensuring privacy and security. 
• Flexibility for Members: Members can join the community and then choose which specific groups align with their interests or needs. 
• Scalability: Communities can encompass up to 500 groups and potentially thousands of members. 
• Use Cases: WhatsApp Communities are particularly useful for organizations like schools, neighborhoods, clubs, and small workplaces that need a way to communicate privately and efficiently.
